Well done Jamie, blips are fine, it's what happens afterwards that's important - and remember, failure is not an option as you once said!
Keep up the good work then.
Hubbie is losing more slowly than we imagined, but doing well - he's lost a stone in just over 2 weeks which is exactly the same as I did. We're pleased with this, you can tell a difference already, and I'm impressed with the changes he's made so overall we are a pretty happy clan at the moment!

Lol thanks Julie, back on the wagon now, my weigh in day has changed to Monday.

Will post the results then, feeling lighter though which is good and resurrecting some of my old but nice clothes from the wardrobe

Omg Jamie that sounds fantastic and awful all at the same time!! Now wonder you weren't posting, you had far better offers lol!
I think my days of that sort of thing are (sadly) in the past now.....
I guess that was at least 3 of us feeling lousy with upset stomachs over the weekend then?.....
I think you win the prize for falling (temporarily of course) off the wagon in the most spectacular style!
Glad you are back on board, hope it's not been too painful, good luck with the weigh-in this week!

Post by Juliemarie Fri Apr 23, 2010 9:37 am

Hi you two
Michelle yes, it does slow down, but stick to it and you will see a steady loss which I still think is far greater than any other way I've tried to lose weight!
FYI my weekls losses have been 9.5, 4.25, 2.5, 3, 3, 3.75, 3.25, 2.25, 5.5, 3, 3, 2, 3 and so far I've lost almost 3lbs this week too (with 4 days to go, hoorah!!)
IKWYM Jamie, some weeks seem so slow then other weeks take you by surprise...like this week for example!
Had some friends over tonight and they absolutely couldn't belive the difference in me now! They said I look slimmer every time they see me!
Good luck guys!

Hiya I am 3 weeks in to Protikee, well done on your 16lb loss that is great. There seems to be a pattern on VLCD you seem to loose more one wek then less the next then more one week then less the next if that makes sense.

Jamie...sorry if TMI but I happened to watch 'embarrassing bodies tonight', a girl had a breast reduction and the fat they removed was 3lbs...quite gross but it really made me realise the volume of what we are shifting from our bodies with this diet! No wonder we are all going down the clothes sizes!!
Have a good weekend

Jamie well done, I am pleased for you. 3lbs is great - remember what you said about what this looks like?? That means you're almost at your stone mark (for this diet) and a lot more than that from when you first started Atkins! That's amazing!
Stick in there, it will stay steady and you are well on the way now!!
Also you are a great encourager for others so I'm glad you're sticking around!
Hubbie is doing well btw, he's done 4 days now and seems to be coping OK. I'll let you know what he's lost when he weighs in on Monday (forums are not really his thing)

I found that people really started noticing around the 1.5 - 2 stone mark, it gives you a real boost doesn't it? (And if you're like Katie you recruit them to the diet too lol!)
Keep it up then, stay strong, no caving in this time!

Hi Julie

Yes you are right and have adjusted the tracker, It should read right now, hopefully!

I am feeling in real good form at the moment.

Someone commented today on how much better I look so that gave me a boost.

Yes Atkins was dead easy i lost a stone or so but then I completely stalled and lost nothing so I went down to Zero carbs for a few weeks and still no movement? Well weird.... I was a bit worried about as I thought my metabolism might be fooked!

That's a fab start Jamie well done! (Isn't it a bit more than 8lbs if you started at over 20 stones btw?)
I see you already did well and lost loads on the Atkins diet, I know nothing about that one apart from what I heard in the press, how do the two compare?
Keep it up now, you've done the hardest bit, now stick to your routine and watch those scales go down, down, down!
