Are the Milk Shakes too sweet?
Re: Are ProtiKee Total Meal Replacement Milk Shakes too sweet?
wow Vashti you have me worried about the whole aspartame now. I suppose like you said though being overweight is very unhealthy and dangerous to the body as well so sometimes its worth just doing whatever you can to get rid of it.
I find the weight control shakes much nicer than the TOTAL ones.

Re: Are ProtiKee Total Meal Replacement Milk Shakes too sweet?
Hi, do find they are abit sickly. My concern is that back in 1981, when I last saw my Gt. Uncle from the USA. He said that they had discovered that Aspartame was carcinogenic, and the States were stopping it's use, but we in england have been happily pumping ourselves with it for years! What about goog old saccharin or fructose as diabetics use? Whether these claims have been discounted or not I do not know, but have always tried to avoid them. I have to admit that I had not gone into the type of sweetener, as 'on death row' at my present weight, then the advantages far outweighed the disadvantages at the moment.
Anyone got any further info on this?

Are ProtiKee Total Meal Replacement Milk Shakes too sweet?
There is far too much sweetener (Aspartame) in the milk shakes for my tast - is this a problem for anyone else? Are there any tips on compensating for this cloying, sickly sweetness? I have considered adding unsweetened cocoa powder but don't know how many calories that would be or if it would be effective.
Is there any hope of a low-sweetener version of this essential part of the total meal replacement plan? I note the only savoury option, the soups, are again delayed; this time until September. Can I stick it out that long?
Thanks for any tips.
