Re: Weight gain in first week?
Yes, I think I've learnt my lesson now as far as midweek weigh-ins go - I won't be doing them again! I'll be sticking to once a week from now on!Cookie wrote:I don't get on the scales between my weekly weigh ins!

Re: Weight gain in first week?
You've just reminded me why I don't get on the scales between my weekly weigh ins!
It's always been my rule and one I won't break...
My willpower on the diet front may waiver but not with this one rule.
That way I won't be dissapointed if my 7lb midweek loss ends up as a 4lb one at the end of the week,
and pleasantly surprised if my '80% week' gives me a better weight loss that I thought it would.
TOTM and just day to day water retention play havoc with my weight but there is usually some loss over 7 days,
and I have learnt not to step on the scales in between.
Sue.

Re: Weight gain in first week?
Well, still waiting for TOTM (I think it's got frightened off by the shock of the diet...) BUT... I weighed this morning and I've lost another 4lbs So even with all the ups and downs, it's a total of 8lbs in 12 days which I'm quite pleased about!

Re: Weight gain in first week?
HI Jo, I agree, there is no way you can put on 'real' weight with this low amount of calories, and all the other signs are good, so it's likely to be water retention because of TOTM. Stick in there and maybe you'll be rewarded with a sudden drop in weight after TOTM, this has happened to me a few times, I've been fed up as nothing seems to be moving, then the next day the lbs are falling off again!
Stick in there hon, you are doing great!

Re: Weight gain in first week?
Thanks! I'm not going to weigh again until Sunday night and hopefully things might have settled down. I feel like I'm probably in ketosis now, I don't feel very hungry at all, I've felt quite "full" all day today and had bags of energy, been driving everyone mad at work There were loads of goodies on the staffroom table this lunchtime and I didn't even fancy any of it - I just sipped my soup and had a coffee. Looking forward to relaxing this weekend and hoping for a more positive weigh-in next week.

Re: Weight gain in first week?
Hi Jo,
Don't get disheartened, I'd go with your friend with the theory of water retention with your totm due. I put on 7lbs in fluid before and during first three days of a period, so I'm expecting it. Stay with the plan, keep to the rules, and hopefully it will come right at the end of the week or once period finished, I'll hedge my bets on it. Let us know how it goes and don't let it get you down and risk failing, you MUST keep going now the first 4 days are behind you!!!!!
All the best, we'll be thinking about you, keep strong and focused!

Weight gain in first week?
Hi all!
OK, so I'm on day 4. Weighed on day 2 and I'd lost 4lbs, which I was delighted about Weighed again tonight and it's gone straight back on! I haven't cheated at all! I've had 4 MRP products per day (shake, bar, soup, pudding), my 50cal salad, a drop of skimmed milk in tea or coffee 2-3 times per day and that's it!
Not sure if I'm in ketosis yet, still feeling hungry when my next "meal" is due and still feel tired, achey and wobbly but with a rush of energy and feeling of fullness after I've had one of my "meals".
I'm waiting for my period (due any day now) and my friend who's on Cambridge said it'll probably just be the usual monthly bloat, but I don't understand 4lb worth of bloating in 2 days? I'm right back where I started 4 days ago
