Popping Pinkies
Hi Magpie29
Thanks for this info, we have not heard of these but will do some investigation and come back. Physullim Husks are very good and also Lepicol although quite expensive and not so nice to taste for some.
Kee are always looking for a alternative quality products. So many thanks

Pinkies
Hi,
When I've encountered constipation on previous diets I've used Celevac tablets and found them a big help. They're bright pink tablets - hence the expression 'popping pinkies' - that you crunch. They do stick to your teeth a bit, but if you have a hot drink straight after, that melts the bits off. They're made of methyl cellulose that swells in the stomach, so it makes you feel fuller, and it provides bulk further down too. As far as I know there's no reason they shouldn't be used with a VLCD, but maybe Admin can correct me if I'm wrong about that. And they're quite cheap, I got a tub of 112 tablets for £4.95 and you only need two a day.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Constipation is a very common side affect
Hi Ladies, unfortunately constipation is one of the most common side affects of a VLCD due to the drastic change of food consumption. Take a look on the website, Kee Guidance - Common Side affects.
There are two ways this generally appears either around the second or third week when constipation will hit, then with the help of a laxative to get things moving doesnt return. (Make sure your water consumption is around 2.5L - 3L every day)
Or again will appear around the same time, but will return again a few weeks after the initial laxative, in this situation it is definately not adviseable to keep taking laxatives as these will drain your body of nutrition. You will need extra fibre in your diet, everyones requirement is different, using the free food on FRMP may help or you may also need a firbre supplement, physullim husks, lepicol, FSC, products with Inulin or look out for our products with a higher fibre content, all these should help.

Re: 2nd week only 31b lost
Hi Elly
I am having salad or veg every day anyway (50 cals from the list - which is quite a big bowlful) and this seems to help. Why don't you try that? It's recommended from what I read.
Good luck, keep it up!

Please don't be disappointed hun, every pound is a step closer to the new you!
I lost 13lbs the first week and 3lbs the second week too, I know it can take time for your body to adjust, we'll all get there in the end, hope next week sees you to continue to lose at a steady pace and feel the weight\your body changing

2nd week only 31b lost
well second week down and ive lost another 31b thats 1 stone in 2 weeks I was rather disappointed but Ive been suffering from very very bad constipation the first week no problem second week I started to take the slow release multi vitamins as sold on the website and these made me very constipated. I have taken a few laxatives and feel much better but I do not want to rely on them. Ive started having very small bowlful of green veg as an optional twice a week so fingers crossed better loss next week I hope I do feel the weight coming off and I should have measured myself before the diet. Anyone else having problems. speak to you all soon with update
