VLCD Dry Skin
Hi Mrs Badcrumble.
Great News !!
The seeds / nuts or essential good oils will help so much which is why we encourage our dieters to introduce on the lower Kee Plans, we understand that many are concerned about the calories, but those we recommend are healthy fats not saturated fats or man made fats. The body accepts them much easier and there they are almost prepacked natures goodness and so worth including they help with lots, dry skin, hair loss, nails and much much more.
A diet under 800kcal is a VLCD, yes you do need to ensure your received sufficient, proteins, carbs, calcium, fats.... but calories wise you will normally loose the same weight as following a plan of 450Kcal as you will a diet close to 800kcal, but will remain healthier without so many common side effects. It really is a good idea when following our Rapid Burn plan to include the salad and vegetables for convenience, added fibre, nutrition and assit with good digestion, all helping you to remain well and healthy. Also the nuts and seeds a couple of times a week, if the draw to eat too many is posed, make up a good oil with herbs and spice to drizzle on your salad/veggies or even take a nut/seed oil capsule.
The subject of healthy fats is so confusing, so Here's a little snip taken from our webstore page Nuts/Seeds http://www.thekeediet.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page&id=25
Definitions:
Saturated Fats - the ‘bad’ fats which are known to raise blood cholesterol levels
Monounsaturated Fats - the ‘good’ fats' which can lower blood cholesterol level
Polyunsaturated Fats - ‘in between fat’ which has some good and bad properties
Trans Fatty Acid - a man-made fat which is worse for you than saturated fats. These are made when certain oils are heated (see below) and are also present in foods which contain hydrogenated oils such as margarine. If you use margarine buy one that is non-hydrogenated. Read food labels and avoid all products which contain hydrogenated oils.
Its great to lose weight and feel better about yourself, but you should always ensure you are looking after your long term health along the way., Which you seem to be doing so brill gonna be slim & beautiful in time for summer xx

Re: Couple of quick Questions ....
My skin has become dreadfully dry too, so I've got a jar of brazil nuts on the side in the kitchen, and rather than having a handful every few days, I have a couple of nuts or so a day. It eeks out the cals and hopefully means I have the essential healthy oils in my system each day. I have seen an improvement in the past week or so, since I've introduced them, as it was getting so bad I was moisturising my skin every couple of hours, and had even resorted to slapping some Sudocrem across my forehead - I looked a complete mess with the dry skin, but even worse with that slapped on my bonce!
Hope your's improves soon... I'm thinking a cod liver oil capsule would be the ideal way to combat it.

Balsamic Vinegar and Dry Skin on VLCD Diet
Unfortunately one of the common side effects, not everyone suffers from this, but those that do, or may have the potentional to we advocate you use the option to incorporate the nuts / seed allowance heres a link with more info http://www.thekeediet.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page&id=25. If your frightened that eating a few nuts could be too much, possibly drizzle some oil on your veg/salad, choose one you like and can really pick up your allowance, or take in capsuel form from a local health store.
Nuts / Seed allowance is 1tbls 3 x each week.
Re Balsamic Vinegar, best to avoid the proper stuff if you can on Rapid Burn, try the Kraft, Balsamic Vinegar Spray Oil 1kcal per spray, similar to the spray oil.
Hope helped
