Hi
It is quite normal in the 3rd week for your body to slow down the weight loss for a short period, especially if you have had the brilliant results of over 12lb in 2 weeks. Your body will pause occasionally just to make sure all is okay due to the sudden loss of fat.
3rd week is a strange one for many, those who may get constipated start to feel symptons due to the change in their diet, weight may slow or stall, boredom sets in, and the need to crunch can become quite strong.
Get through week 3, don't let a lower weight loss deter you, focus on the 1 month goal and you will be amazed.
Re Post Reilly12 - Many thanks spot on, consider that you are only taking on around 500-600kcal with a VLCD and running on a machine or strenouse workout may burn 300kcal you will enter starvation phase and you in extreme circumstances if you continued your body would stop using fat for energy as insufficient but would start breaking down muscle and tissue for energy, remember your heart is a muscle.
So whilst following a VLCD - for the first 2-3 weeks abstain from exercise, yes of course you can walk a little faster, go up stairs but not exercise as such. Then after your first month you may wish to do a little light exercise, but toning up is better than trying to burn calories throughout a VLCD plan.

Re: Weight loss slowing down
Do not begin a weight loss or exercise routine without first consulting a health care professional for advice. There are many health conditions that may contraindicate rapid weight loss programs or some of the other effective short-term weight loss strategies.

Re: Weight loss slowing down
drinking lots of water seem to be the special ingredient, the more you drink the more you loss. 19lbs is great though, so congrats and keep up the good work.

Weight loss slowing down
Hi Guys,
My mum, sister and myself are on a VLCD, we follow the diet strictly, but we are all approaching our 3rd week, and our weight loss seems to be slowing down to 2 pounds a week, in the first week i lost 12 pounds, and in nearly 3 weeks i've lost 19 pounds in total, but the loss seems to be slowing, is there anything we can do to increase the weight loss a bit?
Laura xxxx
